1- Make sure your story includes relevant tags — important words that someone who wants to read your story might be searching for. 
 
2- Headlines are kind of like super-important keywords, so getting the headline right is another way to improve your traffic — write great headlines that will both do well in search engines and catch readers’ attention. 
 
3- Try writing about interesting stories not being covered by the mainstream media (or at least not being covered in the same way). Type your headline idea into a search engine and see how many results come up. 
 
4- Catching a hot trend will help your story get views; on the other hand, the more results that appear, the harder it will be for your story to be noticed among all the others. Try changing the wording of your headline and see how that affects the number of search results. Of course, good writing is always important — there’s no substitute for that.
